Ollie’s probably going home!

Two reasons I’m late and somewhat cheating on today’s blog post.

1) I blogged over at the MBT Ponderers today. So I hope you’ll hop on over there for some laughs and, yes, even a serious thought or two.

2) This book...Heiress by Susan May Warren. Could. Not. Stop. Reading.

Now, I’m a slightly (definitely totally) over-the-top fan of Susan May Warren’s storytelling. And while I’ve possibly (certainly) gushed about many (all) of her books, Heiress just may win the title of absolute fravorite-est. Although, Sons of Thunder, which literally had me crying my eyes out on an airplane – yes, I think my seatmate was worried – may be tied for the fave.

Heiress is set in the Gilded Age and spans New York City elite society to western mining town grit. Missing out on this book would be like foregoing cotton candy at the fair. Inexcusable.

So, yes, not much in the way of a real blog post today…BUT, I’m pretty sure this picture will make it all worth it.

Such a smile, all the more amazing considering he’s just come through his third open heart surgery!

If all continues to go well, my awesome little nephew Ollie will go home on Friday. God is good!

    1. Okay, I’m running late today too, but in my defense, I checked your blog at 6:30 and you weren’t up yet so…I commented on an older post I missed.

I’m heading over to MBT. I too love Susan May Warren, but I have not read the Sons of Thunder yet. Must. Do.

Cotton candy makes me want to gag. Go funnel cakes! AND…
      YAY Ollie! 🙂

    2. Yes, I was definitely behind this morning! Usually I post at 6 a.m.! And oh boy, funnel cakes may even beat cotton candy!

Also, I just realized I spelled favorite-est, which probably isn’t a word anyway, with an extra r – fravorite-est. I should probably edit it, but it made me laugh, so I think it’s going to stay… 🙂

    3. I’m keeping up with Ollie via the CaringBridge posts. One of my greatest hopes: to meet that sweetie one day!
And I’ve got my copy of Heiress … but don’t dare touch it or even sneak a peek inside. Too much editing to do right now. Must stay focused.
      Sigh.

    4. Just saw this comment today, Beth, after also seeing your note on facebook about finishing your edits. Congrats! Can’t wait to read your books…

And seriously, you made the right choice to wait on Heiress because it’s impossible to put down.

Thanks for the prayers for little Ollie. Sadly, he didn’t make it home last week, after all. 🙁 But he’s where he needs to be. You (and all the Ps) definitely have to meet him someday!!
