Needtobreathe and hair envy.

So a few weeks ago I saw Needtobreathe in concert. It was so great I’m pretty sure I didn’t stop smiling for the entire concert. I mean, like seriously…my cheeks hurt.

The concert was in this packed little Blue Moose Tap in Iowa City. My sister and I got there early enough to snag the best perch ever—a bench along a wall up close that let us see over the people in front of us. I was a little worried the thing might break but Needtobreathe was worth the risk.

And they were worth the freezing, windy cold of standing in line. And the road trip. And the lack of sleep. And yeah, that whole cheek-hurting thing, too.

I came home with three thoughts at the forefront of my mind:

  • Whoa…what if I love Needtobreathe as much as Coldplay? That’s epic amounts of love.
  • I can’t handle the wait until their next release. I just can’t.
  • Why can’t my hair be as great as Seth Bolt’s? And what’s wrong in the world when a girl is jealous of a guy’s hair?

The one on the right is the one with the great hair. I don’t even have words for how much I love this band.

Who’s YOUR favorite band? Who gives YOU hair envy?

(And is it horribly obvious that I realized late last night I didn’t have a blog post ready for today? But Needtobreathe makes an awfully good last-minute blog topic, don’t you think?)

    1. LOL! I have hair envy all the time, and I’m an equal-opportunity-hair-enviest…and yeah, I made that last word up, as if you couldn’t tell:) Happy Friday, Melissa!

          LOL!

I had to look up Clay Matthews.
I did not have to look up Chris Hemsworth.

Also, speaking of hair, I’m now compelled to pull out one of the greatest quotes of our Chicago weekend: “This wind is giving me Smeagol hair.”

    2. I like them too, although I’ve never seen them in concert. I guess I’m not a big concert go-er. 🙂

And you have such pretty hair! I often wish mine was naturally curly or wavy. It’s just stick straight.

PS- All the girls have always loved my brother’s hair. It’s pretty funny.

What?! You’re the one with pretty hair. It’s so long and awesome and gorgeous. Mine is like an undisciplined, unpredictable child who throws fits at the merest hint of less-than-ideal conditions…like humidity.

        I don’t know The Platters!

I think I’ve only ever known you with curly hair. I used to try to have straight hair, too. In high school I’d straighten it and get so annoyed when it didn’t stay straight. One day my dad asked me why I didn’t just go with the curls—it’s funny how clearly I remember that conversation. He said he liked it curly. And because I will basically do anything my dad suggests, it’s been curly ever since.

    3. MATT WERTZ!!!! Huge Matt Wertz fan — no, not fan. Worshipper. Evangelist. Proselytizer. But do I envy his hair? Hmm… probably not. Knew a guy in a Christian death metal band a decade ago, however, who is to this day the ONLY man I’ve ever met in person who can pull off waist-length hair for me. 🙂

I had to look up a photo of Matt Wertz. I’m sadly not that familiar with him or his music, but I’ll have to check it out. Haha, I’ve never been all that into waist-length, Legolas-type hair either. Although, now that I’ve brought up the topic of LOTR, Aragorn gets an A+ for HIS hair. 🙂

Me too, Lisa. So much. I never thought I could possibly love another band as much as I love Coldplay, but I don’t know…after seeing Needtobreathe live…they may be tied in my heart.
