Leap Day!

Okay, it’s Wednesday and usually that means a special Welcome Mat Wednesday guest. But I’m breaking tradition (sorry, Tevye) and there’s a good reason.  But you’ll have to watch the vlog to learn why. (There’s also a perfectly good explanation for the hat, I promise.)

Thanks for watching!

How has God reminded you of his love this month?

p.s. As noted in the video, I hope you’ll join the Wednesday fun next month! We’ve got some fabulous guests coming up including Wynn-Wynn Media, Writing Career Coach Tiffany Colter, debut novelist Katie Ganshert and a pastor friend of mine! We’ll do another giveaway, too. In the meantime, see you Friday. 🙂

    1. One, I adore the hat and you should wear it more often. It’s so cute! Secondly, you should vlog your devotionals more often. I love to hear you talk and the life lesson you learned was perfect. After I finished cracking up, of course! Girl, that is hysterical! Hysterical!

    2. So cute, Melissa!! Have you ever watched The Office? A guy set the microwave on fire and everyone sang, “Ryan started the fire…” and then they called him “Fire Guy.” For a long time. Ha.

God shows me his love all the time. I just was thinking yesterday how incredibly blessed I am. I have a great job, great husband, great family and friends. And I’m pursuing a dream I’d forgotten about. A lot of people aren’t able to say that. I’m so glad I can!

      1. Oh yes, I’ve watched the office. And oh yes, we’ve got our own office version: “Melissa started the fire…”

Awesome that you’ve recognized the blessings in your life! 🙂

    3. Melissa, I love the hat and your comments and the point of the lesson. I think microwaves zap germs, too–how like God. I love this twist you’ve given a Leap Year post, to take it beyond romance to the greatest deepest love of all. Thanks!

    4. Love your hat and your ramblings:) You know what I love – that we serve a God who loves to laugh. So often I feel His love as He chuckles over me and my mistakes. Oh yes, at times He was to maybe be a bit more loud with me, but those moments where I’m putting out fires I started and He reminds me “That’s not how we do it,” and allows laughter in that moment, I love those moments. He’s pretty awesome, isn’t He?
      Great Vlog:)

    5. My grandparents got a microwave when they were in their 70’s. One day, my grandfather decided to bake himself a potato in it, which would have been fine, if only he hadn’t thought it needed to be wrapped in foil! My grandmother was SO mad that he ruined her new kitchen toy!

God has shown me His love through my husband over the past few days. He’s always a great guy, but I’ve been sick in bed and the house has kept on running without me! It’s awesome to know that even when I’m too weak to take care of situations around me, He can.

PS – Joining the “love the hat” chorus!

      1. Oh my goodness, that’s hilarious about your grandparents’ microwave. Confession: I’ve put tin foil in the microwave before. Caught it before a fire, though!

I hope you start feeling better really soon!

    6. It’s the end of the Deep Thinkers Retreat (missed you!) — and the end of the evening. What a delight to visit your blog. I love the hat, love you and love how you share your life with us.
I saw a lot of love shared this week as Susie and Rachel poured themselves out for other writers — and Reba and Alena were such servants. Wonderful, wonderful living examples of love.

    7. Ohhh, I so missed being there, Beth. Thought of you all so often. And I absolutely believe you about the examples of love you experienced throughout the retreat…Did you do a prayer circle? Of all the amazing moments at each MBT retreat, the prayer is always the best. 🙂

    8. I love, love, LOVED this vlog post. Like the kind I want to pluck off the page and hug and take with me everywhere. L.O.V.E.D. That is my love story for the February month that is no longer here anymore. 😉
