Spent the weekend dog-sitting my parents’/sister’s dog Rocky. Learned a few things…
What Rocky likes:
Sitting on my lap.
Sitting near my lap.
What Rocky hates:
My car. Pretty sure he stood at the living room window and barked at my car for 10 minutes straight. Got momentarily distracted by a leaf. Returned to barking.
Worn out from all that barking at my car… |
The elephant noise on my phone. See, I was setting the timer on my phone for something reeeeal important – hot-tubbing. J (Uh, I have a history of passing out, thus I’m not allowed in the hot tub for longer than it takes my vision to blur.) And anyway, I was playing around with the various alarm sounds. Discovered I have an elephant alarm–who knew? Rocky, however…not a fan. Resume barking.
My piano playing. I sorta thought I was an okay pianist. Rocky, not so much. We turned it into a game though. I played a note, he barked once. I played two notes, he barked twice. Okay, so we couldn’t get past two, but for a couple minutes there I thought he might be a genius.
Totally un-interested in my canine adventures of the past weekend? That’s okay, ‘cause today the real fun is at the MBT Ponderers where I interviewed one of my total author faves, Jenny B. Jones. Be sure to stop by! And if you leave a comment, I’ll enter you into a drawing for her latest release, There You’ll Find Me.
In the meantime, you should probably make time to view this video. Because who couldn’t use dose of animal fun to start the week out right?
p.s. Two weeks ’til the release of Coldplay’s new album. I’m totally not counting the days. I totally don’t know that it’s 1 week, 6 days, 15 hours, 21 minutes and 36 seconds ’til October 24.

LOL! I’ve already been over at the MBT! Great post on both blogs.
Elephant alarm? I have an iPhone. I wonder if I have that alarm?
Isn’t Jenny B. Jones cool?! 🙂
I downloaded a free timer app on my iPhone and that’s where I found the elephant alarm. Not going to lie, it pretty much freaked me out just as much as Rocky when it went off. Love it, though – so much better than the default annoying beep!
Loved JBJ!! Great post, btw.
This weekend I was at my sister’s. We held a surprise birthday party for my mom. While there, my sister showed us her dogs’ talents. She hides treats in her hand, and the dogs have to guess which hand the treats are hidden in too. She taught them to high-five and spin. I guess I’d do that too if I was being given a yummy treat…or not.
LOL! It all depends on the treats, Lisa. Plain old lollipop? Yeah, probably no spinning. But Peanut Butter Panic ice cream from Blue Bunny? Bring on the dizzy-ness!
Oh, Melissa, Melissa, Melissa … please come live with me. I just need a daily dose of your humor. And I have a piano.
No, I will not bark.
LOL, Beth!!!
