One of my favorite pieces in the Bible is Ephesians 3:20-21 where Paul talks about God doing more than we can imagine…
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
I feel like my summer has been proof of that verse, and oh yes, the glory so totally goes to God.
How about you? Has your life been “immeasurably more than you could ask or imagine” lately? Or has it held disappointments or stressors?
I want to encourage you today–whether life is rockin’ your socks off or dropping an anvil on your emotions–by jumping up a few verses earlier in Ephesians 3:
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
Rooted and established in love. Filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. This is my prayer for all of us this Friday. Because circumstances aside, being embraced by God and immersed in His love, that’s the best…best…best part of life. It’s better than anything else we can or can’t imagine.
Let’s find our joy in being loved today!

This is one of my go-to passages. I marvel at and yet can’t even begin to wrap my brain around, “filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.” Wow! I’m so glad at least my heart gets that, loves that, dwells there. Blessings. TinaMHunt

Yeah, God’s pretty amazing, isn’t He?:) Last month I was majorly convicted over this exact verse. My son likes to ask “what if” questions, to which my typical response is “that’s not going to happen”, “but what IF mom”…and as I went to respond God just tapped me and said, “STOP limiting me…I said ABUNDANTLY more than you asked or IMAGINE, now BELIEVE! and SPEAK like you believe…” (emphasis all His:) )

The Lord has laid this scripture on my heart this week to pray and I’ve been mulling over a blog post about it! The one thing that stands out to me is that it says: “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” – ask or imagine – God wants us to ask and to imagine all the great things He can do, and He wants to go even further and give us more than we could ever ask for or imagine, but we must ask. He is after a relationship with us and He’s ready to pour out abundant blessings, if we just ask.
You know what’s so extra cool? We writers have CRAZY imaginations. Sometimes I read that verse and think, “Really, God? More than I can imagine? Really?” And it’s so true. He proves it all the time!
Love it!! I think He so often does things we don’t expect…and it’s always more than we could have dreamed for ourselves. He did that when He brought me and Mike together. I just love how He worked out our love story!
